Best Practices and Performance Measures (BPPM) for Conservation Easement Programs

This paper introduces a new tool for the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) and partner land trusts to help manage conservation easement programs in Canada. The suite of best practices identified in this paper constitutes a selection of the fundamental ingredients — the building blocks — of an effective conservation easement1 program.
