OLTA’s Annual Gathering is an annual conference for Ontario land trusts and other like-minded conservationists. It is a time for sharing experiences and learning from others.
We’re excited to announce that the 2026 Gathering will be October 26th – 28th!
This year’s Gathering will be held at Horseshoe Valley Resort in Barrie, on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and Huron-Wendat peoples, in the area of the Williams Treaties and Lake Simcoe Treaty 16.

OLTA’s Annual Gathering is a meeting for Ontario land trusts and others who care for — and depend upon — Ontario’s lands and waters. It is a time for sharing experiences, learning from others, and enhancing our collective capacity.
The 2024 Gathering was held October 28 – 30, 2024 at the Isaiah Tubbs Resort in the Prince Edward Country area, on the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples, and near Kenhté:ke – Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
Topics addressed included Indigenous relations and reconciliation, land trust learnings and success stories, inclusivity and equity in conservation, land securement & stewardship, board governance, fundraising, land trust operations, and more.

Over 165 participants gathered in Ottawa from October 24 to 26, 2022 to share their passion, collaborations, and key learnings for land protection, as well as to celebrate the creation of the Alliance of Canadian Land Trusts (ACLT).

The 2021 Gathering was held virtually on October 18-20, 2021. It brought together land trusts, conservation professionals and those in the broader environmental industry and the charitable sector from across Ontario and beyond. The theme was "People Need Nature - Nature Needs Us".

The 2020 Gathering was held virtually on October 18-21, 2020. The theme was "Courageous Land Conservation".
