You are invited to attend the virtual Indigenous Land Trust Sharing Circle at OLTA!

The Ontario Land Trust Alliance would like to invite you to join us for the upcoming Indigenous Land Trust Sharing Circle, a virtual gathering to reconnect, share, and continue strengthening relationships within the Indigenous land trust community. The space will be hosted by Becky, with facilitation and guidance provided by Clarence Cachagee throughout the discussion.
This Sharing Circle builds upon the conversations and knowledge-sharing from our first virtual circle held in March. We hope to continue offering this dedicated space a couple of times each year to support ongoing dialogue and deepen our collective relationships.
This gathering is primarily for Indigenous participants to speak, reflect, and share their experiences in a protected and culturally grounded space. Allies are welcome, but will take on a listening-only role, holding space respectfully while ensuring Indigenous voices remain centered.
We hope to hear directly from Indigenous land trust leaders about their experiences – successes, challenges, and the kinds of supports that would best advance Indigenous-led stewardship. Discussions may include:
- The purpose and activities of Indigenous-led land trusts in Ontario
- Barriers and opportunities in land trust management
- How we can collaborate to strengthn Indigenous land stewardship
- How OLTA can improve its program delivery to better support Indigenous-led initatives
- Ideas for future sharing circles, research, and knowledge-sharing projects
Sharing knowledge is deeply personal, and we recognize that there may be concerns about how these conversations are recorded or documented. If you have any hesitations, we can discuss what will and will not be included in any written materials.
