February 25 @ 1:00 am – 2:00 pm
The Canadian Protected and Conserved Areas Database (CPCAD) is a key tool for tracking and reporting on progress toward Canada’s national and international biodiversity targets. Up-to-date mapping provides a helpful starting point for Land Trusts and partners before reporting begins, ensuring protected area screening uses the highest quality data available.
In the first of two webinars, OTLA staff will share practical resources and insights into protected area reporting, including boundary mapping and applicable open-source data layers required for reporting. Participants will also learn how GIS can support criteria found in the pan-Canadian Decision Support Tool (DST).
This webinar is free for OLTA Members and Associates, and $45 for community members. OLTA Members can also access the 2024 GIS Support webinar on our website for additional GIS demonstrations.
This webinar is funded by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation, and Parks’ Land Accounting program.
Speaker: Katya Kozina, GIS Technician, Ontario Land Trust Alliance
