Conservation Easement Agreements ~ Leveraging what we have learned
An opportunity to share lessons learned in a series of five webinars, beginning in October and continuing monthly into February 2026.
Session 2: CEAs as Charitable Assets – Responsibilities of CEA Holders
The second in the CEA webinar series focused on the responsibilities of CEA holders in acquiring CEAs, issuing donation receipts and managing CEAs as important organizational assets.
In 1994, the Ontario Conservation Land Act enabled the registration of conservation easements on private lands. Land Trusts and conservation authorities now have 30 years of experience creating, registering, managing, amending and enforcing these agreements. In this series, we explored lessons about CEAs over the past 30 years. The series was facilitated by Paul Peterson with guest presenters. This webinar series was supported by the Ecological Gifts Program of Environment and Climate Change Canada with logistical support provided by the Ontario Land Trust Alliance.
